The purpose of this award is to give public recognition to APTA MA physical therapists and physical therapist assistant members who are outstanding clinicians, and who have made significant contributions to the profession of physical therapy through the implementation and reporting of quality research.
Process
Nominations for the award will be solicited through Chapter media including the website, and other common communication such as Facebook or Twitter. Nomination forms will be submitted to the Nominating Committee by any Association member(s). Each nomination will recognize the work of an individual or the work of a group/team. The nominations will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Once the Nominating Committee makes a recommendation, the awardee is notified so that the Board of Directors is made aware of their ability to attend the annual conference. The award will be presented to the recipient in the form of an engraved plaque at the Annual Meeting following selection.

The award is to be given in recognition of individuals who have made significant contributions to the body of scientific knowledge within physical therapy by:

The quality of the research, the researchers’ body of work, as well as other contributions will be evaluated.
