ASD is a prevalent disorder and pediatric PTs are likely to encounter this diagnosis at their work settings. Hence, up-to-date knowledge about this complex multisystem disorder is much needed, along with familiarity with the current evidence guiding the clinical care for this population.

Maninder Kaur is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at MGH Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Kaur completed her physical therapy education in India and soon after moved to the US for higher education. She received her terminal degree (PhD) from the Biomechanics & Movement Sciences department at the University of Delaware and then continued her research training as a postdoctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University. She has been working with the ASD population for over a decade and her primary research interests are in improving the evaluation and physical therapy care of children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD.
