Presenter:
Dr. Arun Ramappa is an orthopedic surgeon and Chief of Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and an Associate Professor in Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is a Team Physician for the Boston Red Sox, Harvard University Athletics, Simmons College, Lesley University, and the Boston Ballet. He is also the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard University Health Services. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School and performed his surgical internship at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). He completed his training at the Harvard Combined Orthopedics Residency Program (HCORP) where he was selected as Chief Resident at the MGH. He completed several fellowships including a sports and shoulder fellowship at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Dr. Ramappa specializes in sports injuries and disorders of the knee and shoulder. He is a core faculty member for the New England Baptist Sports Medicine Fellowship, Boston Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Fellowship, and HCORP. Dr. Ramappa’s research focus includes: ACL tears, Meniscus tears, patella instability, shoulder instability, and rotator cuff disorders.
